Student Activities - Kahal

Kahal- The Student-Run Tzedaka Organization

Kahal is the student run Tzedaka organization of the Frisch School. The mission of Kahal, as articulated by its founding board, is threefold.

The first is to sensitize the Frisch community to the needs of the broader community. Through discussions, debates and research, Kahal members expose all of the important causes which are currently worthy of The Frisch School’s efforts.

The second stated goal is to be able to train our students in effective fundraising and to prepare them for their leadership roles after Frisch. With mentorship from faculty as well as lay leaders in the community, Kahal members create and implement many fundraiser throughout the academic year.

The final objective is to raise money for those organizations and causes which the students select. Over the past year alone Kahal has raised over $60,000 for many worthy causes. It is a credit to our students that at any given week, over 100 students can be found after school working on a Kahal project or event.
