ADMINISTRATION

Dr. Kalman Stein
Principal
First Year at Frisch:  1999
Dr. Stein has begun his tenth year at Frisch. As principal, he has created a warm, supportive environment which encourages students to expand their religious and intellectual horizons in an atmosphere which values the individuality of each of our six hundred seventy young men and women. He is committed to curricular integration that promotes the understanding that Torah has an impact on all aspects of our lives.  Dr. Stein came to Frisch after more than twenty years as principal of Maimonides School in Boston and of the Hillel School in Deal.

Dr. Stein earned a doctorate in Modern European History at Columbia University, has done graduate work in Education, and was a Jerusalem Fellow.

Rabbi Dr. John Krug
Dean of Student Life & Welfare
First Year at Frisch:  1984
His abilities, knowledge and keen sense of today’s youth have endeared Rabbi Krug to Frisch students and their families for twenty-five years. Rabbi Krug received his B.A. in Psychology and Speech and Drama, master’s degrees in both Secondary Jewish Education and Psychology, and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, as well as his Semikha from Yeshiva University. He has also completed a Postgraduate Fellowship in the Senior Jewish Educators Program at Bar Ilan University. In addition, Rabbi Krug brings a background in professional theater, dating back to 1974, to our own Drama Society.

Mrs. Elaine Weitzman
Executive Director
First Year at Frisch:  1999
Mrs. Weitzman, who is beginning her tenth year at Frisch earned her B.S. from Cornell University and her M.S. from Columbia University. She oversees the non academic operation of the school, including finance, facilities, human resources, alumni affairs, public relations and development. She also oversaw the development and construction of the new Frisch campus. Prior to coming to Frisch, Mrs. Weitzman  worked as a hospital and health care planner, administrator and consultant. Working closely with Dr. Stein and the academic administration, Mrs. Weitzman ensures that the atmosphere and values which are the hallmark of our school permeate the business office as well, ensuring that parents, faculty and  students enjoy an open door and welcoming environment.

Mrs. Elaine Keigher
Associate Principal/Director of Learning Center
First Year at Frisch:  2000
Mrs. Keigher, as Director of the Learning Center, provides guidance and support to teachers and students affiliated with the Learning Center. She earned her B.A. from William Paterson University and her M.Ed. from the University of Illinois and has done doctoral work at the University of Tennessee. During her tenure at Magen David Yeshiva in Brooklyn and at The J.E.C. in Elizabeth, Mrs. Keigher developed curriculum, provided teacher training workshops, and developed programs for gifted and learning disabled students. She has also taught on the elementary school, high school and college levels.

Rabbi Eli Ciner
Associate Principal
First Year at Frisch: 2001
Whether through seminars, programs, or in his Talmud class, Rabbi Eli Ciner’s goal is to assist students in becoming critical thinkers with a strong emotional attachment to Judaism. Since joining the Frisch faculty eight years ago, Rabbi Ciner has helped create an atmosphere where students are dynamic learners both in and out of the classroom. Rabbi Ciner is currently pursuing a doctorate in History of Education and Jewish Studies from New York University. He received his Semikha from Yeshiva University and also holds degrees in Psychology (B.A.) and Education (M.A.) from Yeshiva University.

Rabbi Ronn Yaish
Assistant Principal
First Year at Frisch: 2006
Rabbi Ronn Yaish has begun his third year as Assistant Principal at The Frisch School. Rabbi Yaish, a graduate of  Yeshiva University’s Sy Syms School of Business has earned his M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision at Loyola University Chicago Graduate School of Education and his Semikha from Rabbi Nechemia Goldberg of Machon Lev. Previously, Rabbi Yaish was a teacher, Director of Student Life, and Assistant Principal at Hillel Yeshiva High School in Deal, NJ and the Youth Director for The Suburban Torah Center in Livingston. Rabbi Yaish’s primary responsibilities are in the areas of attendance, discipline, scheduling and the myriad of bureaucratic details upon which a school depends. In addition, Rabbi Yaish leads the school’s Sephardic Minyan. His blend of warmth and positive, yet firm approach brings a unique flavor to our administrative team.

Rabbi Daniel Rosen
Director of General Studies
First Year at Frisch: 2006
As Director of General Studies, Rabbi Rosen works with faculty in designing and assessing the educational methodology and curriculum for each General Studies department. He also works with students, gauging their academic success to help ensure proper placement.  Focused on creating understanding between student, teacher, family and school, Rabbi Rosen works with all participants to ensure that pedagogy and curriculum accentuate the high standards of Frisch, while addressing the needs of a diverse community of learners. With a background which includes years as a teacher and administrator at MTA and Kushner Yeshiva High School, and a B.A. from Brandeis and master’s degrees from Emerson College, Boston College and Long Island University,  Rabbi Rosen strives to further each student’s achievement as well as foster an atmosphere steeped in a respect for learning.

Rabbi Jonathan Schachter '94
Director of Admissions
First Year at Frisch: 2002
Rabbi Jonathan Schachter has been teaching Gemara and Tanakh at Frisch for the last seven years, but his connection to the school goes back much further than that.  From 1991 to 1994, Rabbi Schachter was a student at Frisch, and even served as the captain of the school’s basketball and softball teams.  Following the first phase of his Frisch career, Rabbi Schachter studied at YU, where he earned a B.A., an M.A. (in Jewish Education) and Semikha.  He then returned to Frisch, to give back to the institution which helped him develop into who he is today.  Aside from the many classes which he teaches at Frisch, Rabbi Schachter is currently the Director of Admissions.  Additionally, he coaches the boys’ softball team and serves as the commissioner of the school’s Sunday morning flag football league.  Rabbi Schachter looks forward to welcoming the class of 2013 next year, as Frisch continues its quest of educating and inspiring the Jewish leaders of tomorrow.
