OPEN HOUSE Parents and prospective students are invited to join us to explore our campus and experience our unique learning environment. Faculty and student presentations will provide you with a glimpse into our all-encompassing blend of Torah study, integration with Western Thought, inspirational Ru'ach and commitment to Medinat Yisrael that have long characterized our yeshiva.
BJE EXAM (The Jewish Education Project) The BJE exam is administered at Frisch as well as at other locations in the metropolitan area. Students are required to take the BJE exam and must register for the exam at their current school. If you are not able to take the exam in November, you must sign up with the BJE in New York to take the make-up exam which will be administered in February.
INTERVIEW A student interview and a brief meeting with the student's parent(s) will be scheduled by the Admissions Office once your application has been received. You will be called to arrange a mutually agreeable time. The objective of the interview is an exchange of knowledge - the student and parents learn more about Frisch and the school learns more about the student. Parents will also have an opportunity to tour our school at that time.
VISITS After an application is received, prospective students have the opportunity to sign up for a “day at Frisch”, when they will have an opportunity to sit in on classes and see the school in action. Visits may only be arranged for students who have submitted an application for admission. They are limited to the following designated dates, and must be arranged in advance. We encourage you to apply and then arrange for this visit as early as possibly by calling Mrs. Kessler 201-267-9100 ext. 201.
Visit dates for 2012-2013 - November 13, 14, 27, 28 December 4, 5, 18, 19 January 2, 3, 30 February 5, 6, 7 COMMUNITY MEETINGS Parents are invited to attend informal sessions with our principal, Dr. Kalman Stein, Rabbi Eli Ciner, Associate Principal and other members of administration. They will be held in different parents' homes throughout the Frisch community. Additonal Information Sessions are held at school . Please click HERE for a list of meetings.
MECHINA PROGRAM - SHAY SCHOLARSHIP Our Mechina program is for students who have no formal Jewish education. Applicants must have the ability to read Hebrew and are exempt from the BJE exam. Applications to this program are accepted on a rolling basis. Mechina applicants may apply for a Shay Scholarship. The Shay Scholars Program is a merit based program which defrays a portion of Frisch tuition. For additional information contact Rabbi Schachter, Director of Admissions at jonathan.schachter@frisch.org.
MATH PLACEMENT EXAM All accepted students who plan to attend Frisch must take the Frisch Math Placement Exam. Students are not expected to study for this exam. The purpose of the exam is to determine the student’s comfort level with various math functions enabling us to appropriately place students in a math class.
TUITION ASSISTANCE Frisch offers tuition assistance to families based upon financial need. An application and supporting documentation must be submitted after registration. A scholarship committee conducts a confidential review of all applications and determines the amount of assistance to be given.
TRANSFER STUDENTS Applications from students who want to transfer into Frisch from other schools are accepted on a rolling basis. All students considering transfer must complete an application for admission.
