OPEN HOUSE
Parents and prospective students are invited to join us to explore our campus and experience our unique learning environment. Faculty and student presentations will provide you with a glimpse into our all encompassing blend of Torah study, commitment to Am Yisrael, to Medinat Yisrael and to Tikkun Olam, enriching exposure to the best of Western Culture and the Ru’ach and  sense of family which have long characterized our yeshiva.

BJE EXAM
The BJE exam is administered at Frisch as well as at other locations in the metropolitan area. Students are required to take the BJE exam and must register for the exam at their current school. If you are not able to take the exam in November, you must sign up with the BJE in New York to take the make-up exam which will be administered in February.

INTERVIEW
All applicants to Frisch are required to have an interview at which time a brief meeting with the student’s parent(s) will also take place. Interviews are scheduled by the Admissions office after an application is received. Notification of the date and time of the interview will be sent to your home by mail. Interviews are scheduled from 9am to 4pm.  The objective of the interview is an exchange of knowledge – the student and parents learn more about Frisch and the school learns more about the student. We urge you to send in your application at your earliest convenience since several hundred interviews must be scheduled.

VISITS
After an application is received, prospective students have the opportunity to sign up for a “day at Frisch”, sitting in on classes and seeing the school in action. Visits are limited to twelve designated dates and must be arranged in advance.  Visits are arranged through Mrs. Barbara Kessler at ext 201.  Since “reservations” may only be made for students whos have submitted applications for admission, we encourage you to apply and then arrange for this visit as early as possible.

Visit dates for 2010-2011  -  TBA

INFORMATIONAL SESSIONS
Informal sessions are scheduled following Open House in individual communities. Parents will receive an invitation in the mail to attend and meet with our Principal Dr. Stein, and Rabbi Jonathan Schachter `94, Director of Admissions. These sessions will take place at the end of November and early December.

MATH PLACEMENT EXAM
All accepted students who plan to attend Frisch must take the Frisch Math Placement Exam.  No preparation for the exam is necessary.  The purpose of the exam is to determine the student’s comfort level with various math functions enabling us to appropriately place students in a math class.

MECHINA PROGRAM - SHAY SCHOLARSHIP
Our Mechina program is for students who have no formal Jewish education.  Students applying to this program must have the ability to read Hebrew and are exempt from the BJE exam. Mechina applicants are exempt from the regular application deadline. A Mechina Open House will be held in the early spring. The Shay Scholars Program is a merit based program intended to encourage students to enter the Mechina program at Frisch by defraying a portion of tuition.  Applicants are selected based on their academic record as well as their leadership potential. The requirements are:  a completed application, supplementary essay, and two recommendations. For additional information contact Rabbi Schachter, Director of Admissions at jonathan.schachter@frisch.org.

TUITION ASSISTANCE
Frisch offers tuition assistance to families based upon financial need. An application and supporting documentation must be submitted after registration. A scholarship committee conducts a confidential review of all applications and determines the amount of assistance to be given.

TRANSFER STUDENTS
Applications from students who want to transfer into Frisch from other schools are accepted on a rolling basis.
